Do the Huts have cooking facilities?
Yes, they have a twin induction hob, microwave, slow cooker, toaster, kettle and BBQ station for disposable BBQ’s outside. They DO NOT have a conventional over
Do you offer one night stays?
No, we are minimum two night stays.
Am I allowed to smoke at Hart Lake Escapes?
We do not allow smoking or vaping inside the Huts. We allow vaping only outside the Huts but smoking is only permitted in the car park with cigarettes being disposed of responsibly.
How far away are you from York?
About 15 minutes by car or bus, which runs from the edge of the site.
What time is the last bus?
The buses run twice an hour Monday to Saturday and Hourly on a Sunday with the last bus returning from York to Hart Lake Escapes is 23:25.

Am I allowed to bring my pets with me?
Unfortunately not. Whilst we are animal lovers, we are strictly no pets for a variety of reasons including allergies, location and wildlife.
Do you allow stag or hen parties?
Hart Lake Escapes is primarily about relaxation and escape time with your loved ones or close friends. We are therefore not set up to cater for stag and hen parties as we don’t believe that the two mix.
Are linen and towels provided?
Yes, all linen and towels, including bath robes, are supplied.
What is included in the welcome pack?
Milk, butter, bread, eggs, tea, coffee, jam and a couple of treats.
Do you allow children?
Escapism and relaxation are our ethos. We don’t believe that combining adult and family breaks on the same site are compatible. Whilst many of our guests have families, they come to Hart Lake Escapes for a break from the hustle and bustle every day life.
Do we have to pay extra for fire wood?
No, logs and kindling for you enjoyment of the wood burner and the hot tub are included at no extra charge.
Is there parking available on site?
Yes, each Hut has its own nominated car parking space.
Are visitors allowed on site?
ONLY at the express permission of the site owners.
Do you sell alcohol?
We are not currently licensed to sell alcohol. However, we do have an arrangement with our local ‘Yorkshire Vineyard and Brewery’, whereby wine and beer can be purchased directly from them using the button below and will be delivered to your Hut.
Do you sell food?
We have a selection of home made slow cooker meals, locally supplied breakfast and BBQ packs and cream teas available to pre-order for your stay.
Do you allow fishing?
The lake was stocked in March of 2023 with a selection of Tench, Rudd and Carp which have bred considerably since. Many of those that have fished the lake have had many successful catches.
